Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. In the last decade she has been working in film and TV. She's received numerous awards including the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and was raised by her aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett as well as her mother and sister were moved from the city of Winston-Salem to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father split from the mother of their children. Bassett chose to become an actor after watching the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. When she graduated of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with a Bachelor's Degree in African American Studies, she continued to pursue the Master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's of African American studies, in 1980. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her leading characters, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
